A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CURBING FOREPERSON
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Curb Setting Foreman to lead a team of workers in the installation and setting of curbs for various construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of curb setting processes, be able to read blueprints, and have hands-on experience in managing and supervising crews. The Curb Setting Foreman will be responsible for ensuring that all work is completed efficiently, on time, and in compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE FOREPERSON
- Proven experience as a Curb Setting Foreman or in a similar role in the construction industry.
- Extensive knowledge of curb setting, concrete pouring, and related construction techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- In-depth knowledge of safety procedures and regulations in the construction industry.
- Ability to operate construction machinery and tools, including curb setting equipment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and handle heavy equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of curb setting crews, ensuring that all tasks are completed according to project plans and deadlines.
- Oversee the layout and installation of curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and other related concrete structures.
- Interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications to ensure proper curb alignment, elevation, and design.
- Ensure that all work is performed according to safety regulations and company policies.
- Monitor and manage the daily operations of the crew, including work assignments, timekeeping, and performance evaluations.
- Inspect materials, equipment, and tools to ensure quality standards and prevent delays.
- Maintain clear communication with project managers, contractors, and other team members to provide updates and address any issues.
- Provide training and guidance to new employees and crew members, ensuring that all workers understand job responsibilities and safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Handle any conflicts or issues that arise during the project and resolve them promptly.
PREFERRED SKILLS::
- Certification in construction management or safety (OSHA certification).
- Experience with project scheduling and resource management.
- Familiarity with local construction codes and regulations.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials.
- Exposure to construction site noise, dust, and debris.

FOREPERSON WORK SCHEDULE
Our standard office hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 - 5:00 pm. During the construction season, the construction division is normally at the job site by 6:30 am and finished by 5:00 pm (based on projects assigned and time of year--peak periods are spring and fall).
