Lawrence-Lynch Corp in Falmouth, MA, is hiring a full-time Milling Machine Operator. We have 2 current openings, focused on operating pavers or milling machines. As a part of the Local 4 union, you'll earn exceptional benefits including medical, dental, vision, and pension.

WORK SCHEDULE

Peak construction periods are Spring and Fall, with most employees working 40+ hours during these times. Work is dependent on project-based needs. Typical work days begin around 6:30 am and finished by 4:30 pm. Occasional night, weekend shifts and travel to the islands may be requested.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate milling machines to remove asphalt pavement to specified depths and grades

• Set up and maintain milling equipment for optimal performance

• Coordinate with paving crews, truck drivers, and traffic control for safe and efficient operation

• Monitor milling depth, speed, and alignment based on job specs and site conditions

• Perform daily equipment inspections and light maintenance (e.g., greasing, blade checks)

• Ensure proper loading of millings into trucks and maintain a clean work area

• Follow all safety guidelines and wear required PPE at all times

Qualifications

• Valid MA Hoisting License (2A preferred)

• OSHA 10 (minimum) certification

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating milling equipment

• Knowledge of road construction and asphalt milling practices

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Wirtgen, Caterpillar, or similar milling machines

• Ability to read and follow grade stakes or plans

• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-traffic environments

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

• Team-oriented with clear communication on the job site

Working Conditions

• Outdoor work in variable weather and road conditions

• Typical hours: early morning starts, extended shifts, and occasional nights/weekends

• Physically demanding work-must be able to lift 50+ lbs, climb in/out of machines

• Travel required to job sites across Cape Cod and Southeastern MA
